Kahala Kabalis Hoke is a proven architect of championship culture, with over two decades of experience shaping high-performing volleyball programs grounded in integrity, discipline, and competitive excellence. As the winningest head coach in Chaminade University women's volleyball history and founder of HI Intensity Volleyball Club, Kahala has established herself as a transformational leader in Hawai‘i’s athletic landscape.

A former standout outside hitter for Chaminade, she returned to her alma mater in 2012 and led a dramatic program resurgence. Under her leadership, the Silverswords earned multiple PacWest titles, NCAA postseason appearances, and national recognition. Her consistent ability to develop athletes both on and off the court has earned her numerous Coach of the Year honors and positioned Chaminade as a respected force in collegiate volleyball. 

Her coaching extends far beyond performance metrics. Kahala fosters environments where academic commitment, personal character, and leadership development are non-negotiables. One of her favorite quotes, “You can have results or excuses—but not both,” reflects a standard of excellence embraced by athletes and staff alike. 

Kahala is also a respected figure in youth volleyball development through her work with HI Intensity and Ka Ulukoa Volleyball Institute Hawai‘i. Her programs are known for their competitive rigor and commitment to cultivating high-character leaders who excel in sport and life.
